We Care About the Health of Our Dogs
Why is health testing important in Puppies?
- Number 1. Understand the Breed!
Everyone wants to know what your dog is and where they generated from. Well by us DNA testing our dogs you can see everything from bloodlines and what type of excises, care, and grooming needs they will need to undergo. You will get a better understanding before choosing your perfect pup.
- Number 2. Check for possible health risk
Health risk can be very scary when it comes to a loved one. Yes, I said “loved one”. Here at Furever Friends our dogs mean the world to us. So therefore, as breeders we have turned to health testing to ensure we are doing all we can to create strong matches between dogs that result in healthier puppies. By us health testing our dogs through embark we are disclosing the 200+ health risk they could have.
- Number 3. What are Traits?
Genes that better help you determine what type of coat color, ears, and tail style they can have.
The reason for testing our dogs’ traits is so we don’t cause any harm mutations. For example, if you breed a merle to a merle, The resulting litter of puppies is at a high risk of containing 'double merles' or 'lethal whites', dogs that have very little or no color to their coat at all. Double merles are highly likely to suffer from eye or ear deformities (in some cases both), which at the most extreme can result in complete blindness and deafness. It very important to understand here your dog comes from and what is it made up of.
We are doing our very best to be open and honest with everyone that is interested. Please ask as many questions as you have, and we will do our best to get all of them answered for you.
