Arctic Spitz or Pomsky Puppies & Adults
What is a Pomsky?
The Pomsky, also referred to as the Arctic Spitz, is a cross between a purebred Husky and Pomeranian. With this breed, you can expect to get the beauty and personality of a husky in a much smaller size. This lovable and easy-to-train breed makes for a fun dog to have around the house.
How Big are Pomskies or Arctic Spitz Dogs?
Depending on the percentage of Pomeranian or Husky in the individual dog, Pomskies can come in a variety of different sizes. Their weight ranges between 7 and 38 pounds, and height between 10 and 15 inches.
Pomsky Coat & Grooming
The Pomsky or Arctic Spitz comes in a variety of different colors, and has a double coat that is soft and fluffy. Their hair can be prone to tangles or mats, so they should be brushed at least once per week. Pomskies are also known to shed a lot, so brushing them regularly helps to remove loose hair that has been shed and lessens the amount that is spread to your clothing and furniture.
What is the Temperament or Personality of Pomskies / Arctic Spitz Puppies?
Pomskies have great personalities and love to play and spend time with their owners. They enjoy attention and need a moderate level of activity, so daily walks and/or play time is recommended to keep them happy. Although they sometimes have too much fun playing with cats, Pomskies also generally socialize well with other pets, as well as strangers and children. At our facilities here in Oklahoma at Furever Friends, we pride ourselves on creating long lineages of well-tempered dogs by maintaining well-trained and loved parent dogs, as well as making an effort to socialize our puppies well in their foundational weeks before going to their new homes.
How hard are Pomsky Puppies to train?
Pomskies are intelligent dogs that respond well to reinforcement training techniques such rewarding them with praise or treats. By doing this, they quickly pick up on what you do or do not like, or what they should or should not do. However, as with any puppy breed, it is important to start training your puppy as soon as you bring him/her home. Even at a very young age, these intelligent dogs can absorb more information than you think.
What is the Health of Pomskies?
Of course, all dog breeds have the potential to develop health issues over time. However, Pomskies are naturally rather healthy dogs and have an average lifespan of 12 to 15 years. Here at Forever Friends, we also offer a Health Guarantee and adhere to an extremely high standard of health to ensure that all of our puppies go home with their new families healthy & happy.
